Open PGY2 Residency Position
We are excited to announce that NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia University Irving Medical Center was recently approved for a Dermatology PGY2 residency position starting July 1, 2025, and will be participating in the 2025 NRMP Match cycle.
Program Summary
The NewYork-Presbyterian Irving Columbia University Medical Center Dermatology Residency Program offers a robust training program in:
- Medical Dermatology (including complex medical dermatology, cutaneous lymphoma, and inpatient dermatology)
- Pediatric Dermatology (including specialists in vascular anomalies and epidermolysis bullosa)
- Dermatopathology
- Dermatologic Surgery
- Cosmetic Training
Our practice sites include NYP-Columbia University Medical Center in Washington Heights and the James J. Peters Bronx VA in NYC. The interview day will include more detailed information on residency structure. For additional information, check out the About Our Program page.
Eligibility
- Applicants must have successfully completed an eligible PGY1 year by June 30, 2025 (Internship in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, General Surgery, or Transitional Year Internship).
- NYPH will only accept foreign nationals into this Graduate Medical Education program who secure J-1 nonimmigrant classification, which is administered by the Educational Commission for Foreign Graduates, or are otherwise authorized to work for the program duration without sponsorship by NYP. NYPH will not sponsor any candidate for an H-1B, H-1B1, F1, E-3, or any other status to participate in this program.

- For those who have not applied to our program this ERAS cycle, please provide:
- Copy of current/prior ERAS application PDF (if applicable) OR a current CV and personal statement.
- MSPE
- Medical School Transcript
- USMLE Transcript
- A minimum of 3 letters of recommendation are required. A letter from a dermatology faculty member and the applicant’s PGY1 year are strongly encouraged.
